Sami Hawat

Sami Hawat (born in 1956) studied at the Lebanese National Conservatory before starting a career in singing and songwriting. He established himself through children’s songs, as well as pro-Palestinian and pro-Resistance songs. He has played in several concerts in Lebanon and abroad, and his musical collection includes various albums among which the most notable are “Al Ra’i Al-Aam” (1992) and “Fi Shi Ma Shi” (2000). He also collaborated with several artists, especially as the lead singer in Ziad Rahbani’s album “Ana Mush Kafer” (1985).

Besides his musical career, Hawat also acted in many of Rahbani’s plays, namely Nazl Al-Sourour (1974), Bennesbeh Labokra, Chou? (1978), Film Ameriki Tawil (1980) and Shi Feshil (1983). As for cinematic releases, he appeared in Kharej Al Hayat (1990) by Maroun Baghdadi, and Tayf Al Madina (2000) by Jean Chamoun.
