Ziad Abu Absi quickly gained renown as a stage actor, and the characters he impersonated are forever engraved in the world of Lebanese theater.

Born in Saida in 1956, Abu Absi studied Accounting and Management at the Lebanese American University (LAU), and took part in university plays, like Fenianos Bel Day3a (1974) written by the late Rose Ghorayeb.

It wasn’t until 1977 that he revealed his theatrical talent, when he met Ziad Rahbani and started collaborating in his plays, namely Bennesbeh Labokra, Chou? (1978), Film Ameriki Tawil (1980), Shi Feshil (1983), Bekhsous Al Karameh Wel Shaab Al Anid (1993), and Lawla Fous-hatoul Amal (1994).

In the meantime, his growing enthusiasm for theater pushed him to major in Theater and Television at LAU, after which he undertook his first attempt at writing a play, entitled Al Shama3 (1979).
